Where Is The Trust. . .Where Is The Trust?
“13However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own [authority], but whatever He hears he will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” John 16:13 (NKJV)
Where Is The Trust. . .Where Is The Trust?
Our minds fight to hold on to wrong thoughts and wrong thought patterns. There is a stronghold, a fortified place in our minds. We struggle to protect this anti-trust mindset with excuses like:
- I don’t want or need to change.
- I have been doing it like this for years.
- I’m fine!
- Everything is ok the way it is.
- I’m comfortable!
“3Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.” Proverbs 16:3 (Amplified)
To agree with God means that change is inevitable. We must commit to change even though it is very uncomfortable. Job 22:21 (Amplified), instructs us to “Acquaint now yourself with Him [agree with God and show yourself to be conformed to His will] and be at peace; by that [you shall prosper and great] good shall come to you”
Have a dialogue with God and get to know Him and His will for your life. Don’t take His ways personal but take His ways with purpose according to Romans 8:28 (NIV).
“28And we know that in all things works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
“You comprehend my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.” (Psalms 139: 3-4, NKJV)
We cannot hide from God. He already knows our feelings, desires, needs and wants. He knows what you will be doing today and tomorrow. According to Nahum 1:7, “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.”
God already knows if we truly trust Him or not. We cannot fool Him. Be honest about where you are. Ask yourself:
1. Where am I with my trust in God?
2. Would it be an easy transition or a major realignment of my mindset to live a
life that exemplified total trust and reliance in God?
3. Does what I see dictate my reality?
Our visual does not convey reality. We need to confess that out loud a few times.
Change your ways so that they correspond to God’s ways for your life. It is a fact that God has called us to various places. However, be honest with yourself! Being where you need to be sometimes does not seem like the right place.
What you see does not always line up with the promises that God has for you. Whatever your situation, know that it is temporary. YOUR REALITY IS THE PLACE THAT GOD HAS DESIGNATED SPECIFICALLY FOR YOU! God is not going to change who He is and the way He does things to satisfy our flesh. It is going to require that we trust Him with every aspect of our life.
During this time of completely and totally trusting God, we must develop some patience. Patience is your ability to stand without giving up.
Philippians 2:13 (NKJV) explains that when we agree with God He is pleased. “13for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for [His] good pleasure.”
We must stop our emotions and feelings from ruling us. According to 1 Samuel 30:6 (Amplified), “David was greatly distressed, for the men spoke of stoning him because the souls of them all were bitterly grieved, each man for his sons and daughters. But David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God.” The message says “David strengthened himself with trust in his God.”
Whatever you are facing, give it to God. Trust Him with it. Stop doing it your way. Do it the way that He says do it. Not the way that you think it should be done. It is not only imperative, but absolutely necessary for you to trust Him with your life. Commit your plans to Him and you will succeed. Everything is in His timing, so practice patience.
“36For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” Hebrew 10:36 (KJV)
Don’t put God on your clock the promise is yours.
“9And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.” Galatians 6:9 (Amplified)
So now the question is . . .
WHERE IS YOUR TRUST?
